Winner of Nicole Kidman's Bouquet Made To Hand It Over
Date: July 11, 2006 • Author: Emily • Filed Under: Celebrity Gossip & Celebrity Weddings & Flower & Decorations & Funny

The wedding guest who caught Nicole Kidman's wedding bouquet had to leave her prized possession behind when she discovered that she was not permitted to fly out of Australia carrying plants.

Evelyn White, a retirement village manager, was invited to Australia's wedding of the year in Sydney last month as she is best friends with Keith Urban's mother Marienne. When Nicole tossed her elegant bouquet of fresh peonies, white roses and gardenias from a balcony during the wedding reception it missed a group of female guests waiting to catch it and landed at Evelyn's feet! Evelyn told The New Zeland Herald "What can a girl do when it falls at her feet?". After picking the bouquet up, Evelyn realised that Australian biosecurity rules would make it impossible for her to travel home to New Zealand with the bouquet. Reluctantly she offered individual flowers to the other wedding guests and eventually handed over what remained of her stunning souvenir to her friend Marienne Urban and country singer Keith's father, Bob.

According to The New Zeland Herald Evelyn commented that the celebrity nuptials had been "a moment to treasure for the rest of your life." Despite the fact that she had to relinquish the bouquet Evelyn said that the Tiffany clock, which Nicole and Keith gave to each of their guests, was a beautiful reminder of the wedding day.
